It’s just a photo booth, what is the big deal, right?

If this is your first time booking a photo booth, there are a few things you should know. Photo booths have evolved and nowadays, there is more to it than just a box on the corner of the room taking pictures. New styles and features have brought us a completely new way to experience photo booths. Lucky for you, we at Blooming Photo Booth, bring you the latest in styles and technologies.

WHAT’S WITH ALL THE BOOTH STYLES?

Booth Styles: There are 2 main categories to photo booth styles, the enclosed and the open-air.

The Enclosed Booth, is the traditional booth style, like the ones we used to see at carnivals and fairs. Even though, many companies still offer the old hard-shell booths, enclosed photo booths have evolved into many different enclosure types. These include canopies, curtains, inflatables and others, with the purpose of allowing more guest into the booth for funnier pictures and enhancing the look and feel, instead of the traditional 2 seater booth black box.

Open-Air Booth is the modern style, which you could say is a mix of photo booth and photo studio. This booth style consists of a photo tower (machine with all photography equipment) facing a backdrop to take pictures of your guest posing against it like in a photo studio setting.

Which one is better? There is no right or wrong answer, it all depends on your style, your theme, and your group type. While open-air booths draw attention with guest posing with the funny props, laughing out loud and the flashes going, the enclosed booths offer the privacy for the funniest of faces, poses, and love birds’ kisses. At the end of the day, both serve the purpose of giving your guest an unforgettable experience.  [/vc_column_text][mpc_carousel_slider loop=”true” auto_slide=”true” delay=”2500″ images=”1095,1096,1016,1098,1018,1019,1020,1097,1094,1017″ height=”300″ gap=”4″ counter_border_divider=”true” counter_padding_divider=”true” counter_margin_divider=”true” image_size=”full” image_opacity=”100″ image_border_divider=”true” image_hover_opacity=”100″ image_hover_border_divider=”true” overlay_icon_border_divider=”true” overlay_icon_margin_divider=”true” overlay_icon_padding_divider=”true” overlay_padding_divider=”true” mpc_navigation__prev_margin_divider=”true” mpc_navigation__next_margin_divider=”true” mpc_navigation__border_divider=”true” mpc_navigation__padding_divider=”true”][vc_column_text]HOW MUCH SHOULD I PAY?

If you have been browsing around and have asked for a few quotes, you might have noticed that photo booth rental prices range from really cheap to really expensive. I have to tell you, that even though the most expensive does not necessarily mean the best nor the cheapest mean the worst, there is some truth to “you get what you pay for”. Instinctively, I want to tell you “pay what feels right to you, and your budget”, but I won’t. Instead, I want to give you some key points to look for when looking a different companies.

Quick Analogy: Photo booth companies are like hotels. There are cheap hotels with stinky rooms, lady with an attitude at check-in, and the stains on the floors; and there are 5 star hotels with the concierge service, extra comfy beds, and room service. They both serve the purpose of providing a bed to sleep, but it all depends on the quality and experience you want to have.

“Budget Friendly” Photo Booths: I have always said, “if you find a good provider that can offer you an irresistible price” by all means, go for it. However, before you do, make sure to do a quick background check. You have no idea, how many inquiries we get with the following line: “Do you have anything available this weekend? Our photo booth just cancelled on us.” But why, right? In many cases, they charge prices under their cost and when they finally realize it, they just decide to cancel on you. Make sure to read reviews about that company. Make sure they provide you with a contract and have them sign it too. Read their contract if they have one. Make sure that they have proof of their work and have experience (social media can help you with that). Oh, and make sure they don’t have hidden costs; sometimes, the advertised price is not your paying price.

Expensive Photo Booths: Not because it is expensive, is the best. It could just mean, that their business has more expenses that need to be passed down to you. Expenses like a big office, that extra employee, or simply they feel it is ok to just charge more. Make sure to look at their image quality, booth quality and service quality. Make sure to read reviews for signs of going above and beyond to make your experience not just fun but pleasurable and easy.

Choosing the right package for you is easier than you think. You do have to consider the length of your event, the size of your guest list, and the features that will enhance your and your guests’ experience. The recommended time is 1 hour per every 75 guest (do consider the event type, other activities and entertainment happening during your rental time).  Take a look a your guest list and ask yourself, do I have an older, younger, or mixed group? This can guide you to choose the right features that will enhance their and your experience.

We do offer a variety modern features like: social media sharing kiosks which are great for the younger groups yet older groups enjoy it just as much. Video booth, allows your guest to record HD video messages. Guest photo books, is the most popular added feature to weddings, yet great for any birthday party or event where you want to have your guest leave you a written message next to their pictures.
